5 Poems

Night
The night, dark and peaceful
The faint glow of the night sky
Illuminated by thousands upon thousands
Of bright stars as they rest above
The cool breeze flows through your window
Laying there just looking, thinking, pondering
On the many thoughts that reside in your mind
Seconds turn into minutes and minutes transform into hours
Still just laying there in the dark, glancing at the night sky
Mesmerized by its mystery, wide open space
Ideas of what’s up there make their way into your mind
The unknown, a lucky few have actually made there way where you
Dream of going a childhood dream, a fake reality, and an impossible goal
So for now, we just sit, stare, and ponder the night sky

THOUGHTS
Vision wonders the universe
Flashbacks to paradise
Create deep thoughts

Ordinary masterpieces
Open the doors
To compassion

Hell forgets its fatal victory
Crisis becomes the essentials
Of an urban society

RANDOM
The unknown sends fear through our minds
Memories of the past leave us in regret
The humiliation of our failures sadden our lives

We wait for a brighter day to come
Hours pass and minutes follow
Just waiting for things to get better

You wait to embrace satisfaction
The day darkens
You feel a little bit less, something is missing

Dark clouds sit above
Hope is lost
You want to give up

Against all odds you succeed
Things begin to look up
Overwhelmed with happiness, you become content
Content with what you have.

Ode to snow
You are so magical
Cold and wet, soft and fluffy
Snow opens up so many doors to fun
Snowball fights persist between childish youngsters
So much joy is given by you snow
The way light glimmers off your flakes as you fall to the earth
Lost in something mystical
You could just stare at snow for hours and hours
Watching it fall gracefully to the earths surface

Imagist Poem
Pink and green swirls, a tornado of colors
Twisting and merging
A sweet taste at the tip of your tongue
To much, instant brain freeze
Pain surrounds the top of your brain
Hot summer day, perfect way to chill out
A child’s favorite thing to eat
Messy, melts quickly into a sticky puddle
Sugar rush, with a slow crash at the end
